Join a forward‑thinking, data‑driven team that is redefining industry standards for data quality, governance, and operational excellence.

Why This Role Matters

The Data Lead, Studio Data Management position sits at the heart of arenaflex’s Content Business Products (CBP) organization. This team builds the data foundations that power everything from content acquisition to production, distribution, and audience analytics. By ensuring contract data is accurate, complete, and actionable, you will directly influence the speed and quality of content delivery, helping arenaflex maintain its competitive edge in a fast‑moving market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Data Planning: Develop short‑ and long‑term strategies for contract data across the studio, aligning data quality initiatives with business objectives and quarterly targets.
  • Subject‑Matter Expertise: Serve as the go‑to authority on contract data, collaborating with product managers, engineers, designers, and external partners to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Partner with product teams and data scientists to define, build, and interpret metrics that surface insights into data quality, operational efficiency, and risk.
  • Process Design & Automation: Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable processes for data validation, cleansing, and enrichment, leveraging both manual and automated workflows.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross‑functional data quality projects that support product development, ensuring deliverables are on time, within scope, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
  • Partner Management: Own partner requirements, negotiate data exchange agreements, and act as the primary point of contact for partner data‑related inquiries.
  • Support & Enablement: Provide timely assistance for internal data queries, develop best‑practice documentation, and conduct training sessions for business users.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in existing data pipelines, propose enhancements, and champion a culture of data‑driven decision making throughout the studio.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in data management, preferably within large‑scale entertainment, media, or technology environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with complex data sets and operational systems, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven experience in problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and solution design.
  • Solid understanding of the end‑to‑end content lifecycle—from acquisition and contract negotiation to production, distribution, and post‑release analytics.
  • Familiarity with data lifecycle concepts, data governance frameworks, and best practices for data stewardship.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and spreadsheet‑centric tools such as Smartsheet or Airtable.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Background working closely with product, design, and customer‑experience teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Exposure to legal operations or studio‑specific workflows, including contract negotiation, rights management, and compliance.
  • Prior experience in a studio, production company, distribution firm, or other entertainment‑related business.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Quality Management: Expertise in establishing data quality metrics, monitoring dashboards, and implementing remediation processes.
  • Process Optimization: Proven track record of streamlining workflows, reducing manual effort, and increasing data reliability.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Project Management: Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, manage timelines, and deliver results in a remote setting.
  • Technical Acumen: Comfortable navigating relational databases, data pipelines, and emerging data‑platform technologies.
