Role Summary

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and qualified teaching professional to join our Chattanooga, TN location. The ideal candidate will work with students in a personalized, one‑to‑one setting, focusing on phonics, reading comprehension, writing, and elementary mathematics. This is a part‑time position with flexible hours that can accommodate afternoons, evenings, weekends, and summer sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, evidence‑based tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s learning style.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Provide focused support in phonics, reading comprehension, writing mechanics, and core math concepts (addition, subtraction, basic geometry, and problem solving).
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment that fosters confidence and curiosity.
  • Communicate student achievements and areas for improvement to parents or guardians in a clear, supportive manner.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any discipline). A degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Prior tutoring or teaching experience with K‑3 students is preferred, but recent graduates, current teachers, and retired professionals are all encouraged to apply.
  • Certification: Teaching certification or licensure is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Personal Attributes: Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to student success.
  • Logistics: Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Chattanooga, TN 37421.
