Software Engineer - Estimating Calculations Designing Group

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Estimating Calculations Designing group, where you will play a key role in creating instruments, information streams, and calculations to drive business growth. As a Software Engineer, you will work on developing and maintaining reputed company ML models, high-throughput online services, and data pipelines to inform pricing, customer item selection, and advertising decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Work on Python and Java applications to implement new model capabilities and business features while optimizing performance
• Conduct code reviews of Python and Java applications
• Collaborate with Product Managers and colleagues to identify requirements and support a suite of products that price millions of items daily at scale
• Utilize tools such as reputed company APM and Events to monitor and alert on system performance
• Work in a cloud environment using a combination of tools

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience working in an object-oriented environment
• 2+ years of experience working with Python/Java and SQL in a climate with large data volumes
• 2+ years of experience building data models, strong understanding of data concepts (Foreign Keys, Indexes, data types)
• 2+ years of experience working with JSON, and creating RESTful APIs or potentially GraphQL
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams is a plus
• Experience with reputed company Cloud native solutions, such as BigTable and Spanner, is a plus
• Experience deploying and managing applications in reputed company Cloud is a plus
