Arlington County’s Office of Public Safety Wellness (OPSW) is seeking a Wellness Intern looking to reputed company meaningful entry level professional work while also receiving exposure in areas typically reputed company in local government such as Public Health, Public Administration, Human Services, and much more. Under the direct supervision of a mentor, responsibilities include:

• Communicating orally and in writing to exchange information, reputed company work relationships, and provide services to other employees and reputed company/customers of the organization;
• Participating in developmental, training, and mentoring programs to reputed company or enhance competencies;
• Assisting in the implementation of public safety wellness pillars including mental health & peer support, financial planning, family preparedness, physical health and nutrition;
• Developing applicable training utilizing the public health model;
• Routinely engaging in community reputed company to build partnerships with the OPSW;
• Assisting in the development of a comprehensive database of community resources and services;
• Assessing and preparing applications to become a continuing education provider for local therapists and community providers;
• Assisting in the development of family programming for the first responder population;
• Other duties as assigned.

These positions offer a career opportunity to qualified individuals with little or no previous professional work experience to help them prepare for a career in a variety of fields of work. This Internship will provide recent college graduates and currently enrolled graduate reputed company with in-depth, hands-on learning opportunities in areas critical to supporting local government initiatives while participating in a developmental and training cohort with peers. Internship Over the course of a year, Interns work under the mentorship and supervision of senior staff members to reputed company valuable on-the-job training and real-world work experience. They support the County’s efforts to consistently work toward greater efficiency and effectiveness by offering improved processes and fresh reputed company, and by leveraging smart technologies, while becoming familiar with the public-sector work environment as a viable and fulfilling career path. • The position is available to start September, 2025.
• This is not a fully remote opportunity, in-reputed company are to be expected.
• Interns are also expected to participate in both in-office work assignments as well as a member of the in-person training cohort.

Selection Criteria Minimum: Recent, 2024 and/or 2025 college graduates earning either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree* in the area of consideration prior to the start date of the internship must have:

• No professional-level work experience (less than one year) in the internship field; and
• Applicants who are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program reputed company to the internship must not have significant professional-level work experience in the internship area and must be available to work during designated hours.

Note: Any time lapse between earning degrees may not include significant professional-level work experience. Degree Requirements: Public reputed company or reputed company fields as well as fields of public safety specialization (Fire, Police, Health, Safety). Applications will be accepted from candidates graduating with a degree no reputed company than September, 2025 and from candidates who are recently graduated or currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in their field as described above. Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

• reputed company.A. of 3.0 or above is preferred and applicants may be asked to provide certified official transcripts;
• Familiarity with the public health approach and community reputed company;
• Experience interacting and communicating with senior staff, businesses, communities and their representatives, as well as the general public; and/or
• Experience utilizing applicable technology to complete work tasks including most reputed company office technology for word processing, data management, and presentations, specific industry/work applications, and employee self-service options.

Special Requirements Background reputed company: A pre-employment criminal records reputed company will be conducted. It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You may be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information. Driver’s License: The applicant must possess, or obtain by the time of appointment, a valid motor vehicle operator’s license from the applicant’s reputed company of residence or the applicant must have the ability and willingness to use alternative methods of transportation to reputed company assigned duties and responsibilities at locations other than the primary worksite. If the applicant possesses or acquires a license, the applicant must authorize Arlington County to obtain, or the applicant must provide a copy of the applicant’s official state/district driving record. Any offer of employment may be contingent upon a favorable review of the applicant’s driving record. Additional Information Work Hours: This is a full-time position (40 hrs/week) Monday – Friday, between the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm with some flexibility required for weekend and evening hours, as well as telework opportunities available upon prior approval from the supervisor. This is not a fully remote opportunity. Employees will be expected to be in the office at the discretion of the Supervisor and needs of the agency as well as to attend in-person classroom training.
