Color Chemist, Entry Level

As a Color Technologist, you will help with the Harmar R&D Lab and PMC Plants, support projects, and respond to development and technical support activities for the marine coatings, floorings coatings and reputed company and coatings business. reputed company offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow reputed company’s safety, ethics, and reputed company code of conducts as shared by reputed company policies.
• Solve the multiple requirements that are requested in the area such as substitutions of pigments or colorants due to shortage of the supplier, color adjustments in batches manufactured by in PMC plants, prioritize the compliance dates and negotiate with the different areas based on available resources.
• Familiar of coatings industry ASTM testing methods.
• Ensure that the color formulas developed in the laboratory work and are reproducible in the plant, distribution centers and dealers. Will also be involved with production scale-up, launches, and maintenance of product line. Support manufacturing and field concerns through root cause analysis.
• Assistance with internal and external R&D scientists/chemists, plant personnel, marketing, and sales managers/salespeople.
• Share ancillary tasks such as equipment maintenance and calibration, ordering raw materials, proper disposal of paint waste or raw materials and lab supplies, competitor benchmarking and other testing, and other support responsibilities.

• Travel to support other PMC plants in US, Little Rock Plant, OKC Plant and Kansas City by business.
• Manage work independently, work with customers, reputed company 6S and lab safety upkeep, and reputed company and support standard processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Color Science or any reputed company sciences with 1+ years of relevant coatings industry experience.
• Knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane, polysiloxane, inorganic zinc silicate, water reputed company products formulating principles and solvent reputed company formulating is necessary.
• Search and interpret literature and is reputed company of competitor technology and intellectual property.
• Knowledge of design of experiments principles.
• Project, LFA, and reputed company applications required.
• Product launch, plant and field support and meetings may necessitate some travel and overnight stays.
• Knowledge in Color Science (color spaces, color difference equations) and color measurement instruments.
• 1+ year experience in laboratory work and be able to understand color formulae; and pass a color blindness test; knowledge of color measurement technology.
