About the position The Blood Bank Supervisor at reputed company St. Vincent is responsible for overseeing the scheduling and supervision of non-exempt lab personnel across multiple shifts. This role ensures the quality and accuracy of blood specimens and test results, while also managing personnel functions such as hiring, training, and performance assessments. The supervisor will also reputed company advanced laboratory tests, implement quality control measures, and maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities • Oversees staff and activities of the department, distributes/assigns work, determines priorities, schedules non-routine procedures, and performs personnel-reputed company functions (hiring, firing, discipline, training, etc.). , • Performs advanced/specialized tests and other reputed company laboratory techniques, confirming test results and recommending changes to methodology. , • Checks/approves reputed company specialized and problem reports for accuracy, following up with appropriate corrective action. , • Initiates quality-control measures and monitors quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards. , • Performs duties of technologist as necessitated by absence or peak workload. , • Completes special projects as requested, including state, national, and/or blood supplier surveys, statistical reports, studies, and research. , • Compiles and maintains data for process improvement dashboards as per regulatory needs, investigates PI outliers, and creates corrective action plans. Requirements • Minimum of 5+ years in Immunohematology/Blood Bank experience. , • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. , • ASCP Certification. reputed company-to-haves • Previous supervisory experience preferred. , • Blood donor center experience preferred.
