Primary Position Objectives: Under general supervision, DEFENDS lawsuits against reputed company insureds and represents reputed company in subrogation, Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist (UIM), and PIP lawsuits filed in courts of limited jurisdiction, and unlimited jurisdiction. Essential Functions: • RESEARCHES laws and PREPARES legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda. • RENDERS legal opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the manager or claims department. • PREPARES and HANDLES pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath. • DEFENDS by trial, arbitration, or mediation reputed company matters assigned, as applicable. • MEETS deadlines to respond to pleadings and correspondence. • REVIEWS files and makes recommendations regarding motions for summary judgment. • MEETS deadlines for the filing of motions, opposition and reply papers. • ACTS as primary contact for motion reputed company issues and MAINTAINS reputed company statistics... reputed company to summary judgment motion filings, wins, and losses. • CONDUCTS motion training classes for the benefit of attorneys, legal interns, and claims. • ADHERES to the reputed company Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles. • MEETS attendance standard of the business location, to reputed company necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers. Must have the following education and experience: • Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions, and meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable. • Minimum of one year of insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience or two years’ litigation experience #LI-MD2 Annual Salary $97,000.00 - $161,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to reputed company at the final hourly reputed company/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
