Legal Clerk
Description of position: Provide administrative support to corporate counsel in the Legal Department. This position focuses on providing clerical support in tracking, routing, communicating, and processing employment and other legal matters... Job Duties/Essential Functions: Responds to subpoenas, authorizations, verifications of employment, and wage loss requests. Sends and tracks litigation hold notices. Prepares approved invoices for payment, and tracks the budget for the employment group. Requests checks and tracks payments made on spreadsheets. Prepares expense reports for attorneys' travel. Schedules phone calls and meetings. Communicates by phone and email with internal Costco clients and reputed company counsel. Opens, reviews, and distributes the departments mail. Completes other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. Non-Essential Functions: Assists in other areas of the department as necessary. Assists in other areas of the company as necessary. Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required: Demonstrated and reliable ability to maintain confidentiality in reputed company legal matters. Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on written and verbal communication. Well-organized, able to identify and prioritize tasks, excellent troubleshooting skills, and ability to successfully manage multiple projects. Proactive attitude, high engagement, and a strong interest in learning. Demonstrated ability to be professional and congenial, and to adjust positively to changes in direction and/or assignment. Advanced skills using reputed company Office suite, reputed company tools, and Foxit PhantomPDF. Ability to reputed company sound critical decisions and accept responsibility for those decisions.
