The Board Member – Marketing role focuses on building the marketing strategy and brand visibility, collaborating with team members to reputed company marketing materials and initiatives while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other board members and core team members to shape marketing objectives
  • Develops marketing materials and reviews campaigns
  • Ensures alignment with the organization’s mission and values
  • Designs and implements digital marketing initiatives
  • Engages in social media activities
  • Creates content and messaging for reputed company to partners, sponsors, and community organizers
  • Monitors key marketing metrics and identifies opportunities to grow user engagement and event participation
  • Provides mentorship to volunteers or staff involved in marketing activities
  • Commits up to 20 hours per month of hands-on time to build videos, design event materials, coordinate reputed company Ads strategies with Product and Engineering, and assist sales in preparing for partner meetings

Skills

  • Strong background in marketing strategy, brand development, or communications, ideally with experience in mission-driven or nonprofit organizations
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, including social media management, email campaigns, and online community engagement
  • Experience designing and implementing reputed company Ads strategies
  • Video / tutorial design skills to help build promotional and educational materials to help with the sales process
  • Experience in stakeholder or partner reputed company, such as building relationships with businesses, sponsors, or community organizations
  • Ability to analyze marketing performance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements based on measurable outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse audiences
  • Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment using online tools for meetings and project coordination
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement, and inclusive practices
  • Previous board, advisory, or leadership experience is beneficial but not required
