[Remote] Senior Media Planner/Buyer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Root+Beta is a collective of curious people who help clients meet their business objectives through storytelling and strategy. The Senior Media Planner/Buyer will research, reputed company, and plan traditional media for clients, presenting media plans and maintaining relationships while negotiating rates and managing multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Researches, develops and plans  traditional media including television, cable, radio and out-of-home for assigned clients
• Presents media plans to account management personnel and clients
• Gathers, organizes and presents competitive research and spending data
• Works hand-in-hand with the Account Service team
• Maintains effective relationships with clients and co-op personnel
• Requests television and radio avails from station representatives
• Generates initial rating estimates
• Negotiates reputed company rates, special time parameters, value-added sponsorships and promotions and, in many instances, justifies the rating estimates
• Approves makegoods if the station does not run a spot as ordered or the spots get preempted. Decides if the makegoods being offered are as good as the spots originally ordered
• Analyzes and writes a rationale for any over or under deliveries, especially if the achievement index falls reputed company the 90 – 110 range
• Assists in training Media Assistants in radio and television buying
