Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Customer Experience & Cloud Solutions Specialist to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role blends customer service excellence with hands‑on cloud development responsibilities, ensuring that our digital platforms not only meet but exceed the expectations of travelers worldwide. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, develop and maintain cloud‑based applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and act as a trusted advocate for our customers, translating their needs into scalable, secure, and user‑friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for remote customers, delivering prompt, courteous, and solution‑focused support via phone, email, and chat.
  • Analyze customer feedback and usage patterns to identify opportunities for service enhancements and new feature development.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure that customer insights are integrated into the roadmap for digital initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of support interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolution outcomes to build a knowledge base for the wider organization.

Cloud Development & Operations

  • Design, develop, and deploy web applications and micro‑services on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and CloudFront.
  • Build proof‑of‑concept (PoC) and minimum viable product (MVP) prototypes to validate new architectures and technology choices.
  • Write clean, maintainable code in modern web frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Django) and ensure adherence to coding standards through peer reviews.
  • Implement containerization strategies using Docker and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes to achieve scalable, fault‑tolerant deployments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and deliver features in short, iterative cycles.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct root‑cause analysis of incidents, and apply fixes to improve reliability and latency.
  • Stay current with emerging AWS services and industry best practices, recommending adoption where it adds measurable value.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with security, compliance, and data privacy teams to embed robust protection mechanisms into all cloud solutions.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate user requirements into intuitive, accessible interfaces.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Engage with external vendors and technology partners to evaluate tools, negotiate contracts, and integrate third‑party services.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Need to Succeed)

  • Strong experience in web development, including proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one major web framework (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Django).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and CloudFront.
  • Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of distributed systems, micro‑services architecture, and cloud‑native design patterns.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL; familiarity with Linux/Unix operating environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of debugging complex software issues.
  • Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to security best practices and data privacy, especially when handling personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States, age 18 or older, and possession of a high school diploma or GED (higher education preferred).

Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge)

  • Prior experience in the airline or travel industry, understanding of airline operations and customer journeys.
  • Exposure to agile development environments with frequent releases and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with additional AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway) and serverless architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins.
  • Certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer.
