The BankWork$ Instructor plays a key role in helping job seekers launch careers in the banking industry through an engaging, nationally recognized training program. In this position, you'll deliver a four-week banking curriculum as part of a larger eight-week workforce development program, equipping participants with the industry knowledge, professional skills, and confidence needed to succeed in entry-level banking careers. Beyond the classroom, you'll build relationships with financial institutions and community partners, support participant job placement efforts, and help connect graduates with meaningful employment opportunities. The ideal candidate combines robust banking industry knowledge with a passion for teaching, coaching, and helping others succeed. Successful instructors are engaging communicators who can connect with diverse groups of learners, create a professional and supportive classroom environment, and build strong relationships with employers and community partners to support participant outcomes. This is a part-time position that will entail 22-24 hours per week during the 4-week classes, held quarterly, and 5-10 hours per week between cohorts for program support activities. Work will be fully remote work (Candidate must live in either Washington State or Idaho). ABOUT THE JOB The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Classroom Instruction

  • Utilize provided BankWorks$® National curriculum materials to deliver 4-week job training classes, as part of the larger 8-week training program, reflecting the needs of the banking industry.
  • Encourage a professional classroom environment set by standard guidelines provided by BankWorks$® National.
  • Stay current in banking industry changes through professional development, gaining insight through bank partner feedback and other professional development means.
  • Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate.
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning and modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs.
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student work promptly to promote maximum learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, in client file and make readily available to Program Manager/Funders upon request.
  • Provide feedback to BankWorks$ national team regarding suggestions on updating and enhancing the program curriculum and all program materials

Partnership Building

  • Develop strong relationships with banking organizations, job placement agencies, organizations serving veterans/transitioning military and spouses, community-based organizations (CBO’s) and faith-based organizations, social media, and all other avenues that can serve as a source for recruiting BankWorks$ program participants
  • Promote candidacy of program participants and graduates for placement within the banking and credit union industry, within professional networks.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry is required.
  • Demonstrated experience required performing classroom instruction, in person or virtual.
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Outlook (training will be provided if needed).
  • Must be able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds which may include disabilities, criminal history, homeless, family violence, poverty etc.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, social work, education, or related field desired.
  • Two years classroom instruction experience
  • Additional experience in program coordination, training delivery, job development, and program development strongly preferred
