The Opportunity: Senior Data Scientist - Healthcare Analytics

arenaflex is seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to join our Research and Behavioral Change team. This is a remote position offering competitive compensation of $26/hour with full-time employment. You'll have the opportunity to build industry-leading research, data, and technology platforms that are redefining healthcare analytics nationwide.

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop powerful solutions that enhance operational efficiency, automate processes, and improve the provider experience. You'll work specifically with Cost and Operations Analysis initiatives focused on improving efficiency, automation, and supplier experience within arenaflex's healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement models, tools, and algorithms to enhance processes related to arenaflex's case environment
  • Identify and measure opportunities for analysis to improve efficiency and increase automation in claim settlement and claim adjustment
  • Create, validate, and execute algorithms and predictive models to research problems, identify patterns, and recommend data-driven solutions
  • Analyze, examine, and interpret massive volumes of data in various formats, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of both structured and unstructured data to address moderately complex business problems
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analysis to uncover hidden patterns and trends
  • Design and implement data architectures and pipelines to integrate, gather, and normalize data that generates insights and addresses reporting needs
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business decision-making processes
  • Define and evaluate data requirements for assigned projects, ensuring data integrity and quality throughout the analysis lifecycle
  • Research existing data sources and recommend additional data collection methods for continuous improvement

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant analytical experience, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or related industry
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in programming with R or Python for data analysis and model development
    • Strong experience in SQL for database querying and data extraction
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques
    • Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data systems, claim processing, or provider networks is highly desirable
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex data concepts for diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, or related field
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, etc.)
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimental design
