About arenaflex

arenaflex is a leading global health‑care and life‑science organization that combines retail expertise with cutting‑edge clinical research. With a heritage that stretches back over a century, arenaflex has evolved from a traditional pharmacy chain into a data‑driven health ecosystem that supports patients, providers, and pharmaceutical innovators worldwide. Our mission is to turn real‑world health data into actionable evidence that improves treatment outcomes, reduces costs, and accelerates the development of new therapies. By leveraging a massive, anonymized patient population and state‑of‑the‑art analytics platforms, arenaflex empowers researchers, clinicians, and decision‑makers to ask the right questions and receive reliable answers—fast.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s rapidly changing health‑care landscape, real‑world evidence (RWE) is the cornerstone of evidence‑based decision making. As a Remote Information Researcher – RWE at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of transforming raw clinical data into certified, regulatory‑grade evidence that informs drug development, health‑policy, and patient‑care strategies. Your work will directly influence how pharmaceutical partners design clinical trials, how payers assess value, and how clinicians personalize therapy. This is not a routine data‑entry job; it is a strategic, high‑impact position that blends scientific rigor with innovative analytics.

Role Overview

This full‑time, remote position reports to the Chief, Clinical Data Science and sits within the Scientific Projects Team. You will lead the extraction, cleaning, integration, and analysis of large‑scale health data sets—including electronic medical records (EMR), claims, registries, and patient‑generated data—to generate robust RWE that answers critical business and scientific questions. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners across arenaflex’s Clinical Research, Biopharma Collaboration, and Data Engineering groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Mining & Normalization: Identify and extract raw data from internal and external sources, transform it into a standardized, analysis‑ready format, and load it into a secure, scalable data lake.
  • Advanced Analytics Execution: Apply statistical modeling, machine‑learning, and causal inference techniques to explore disease patterns, treatment pathways, and health‑economic outcomes.
  • Evidence Generation: Produce certifiable RWE deliverables—including study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and regulatory‑grade reports—that meet ISO, GCP, and FDA/EMA standards.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer: Partner with clinical scientists, biopharma sponsors, and health‑economics teams to translate analytical findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Implement rigorous data‑quality checks, maintain data provenance, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and GDPR privacy regulations.
  • Dashboard & Visualization Development: Build interactive dashboards (using Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire) that enable stakeholders to explore results in real time.
  • Methodology Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging analytical methods (e.g., Bayesian modeling, causal forests) and integrate them into arenaflex’s RWE toolkit.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Contribute to study design, timeline estimation, and resource allocation for multi‑disciplinary research projects.
  • Vendor & Data Source Evaluation: Assess new data vendors, conduct RWD quality assessments, and recommend strategic data‑acquisition decisions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing and executing robust observational studies using real‑world health data.
  • Proficiency with statistical software (R, SAS, Stata) and programming languages (Python, SQL).
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one BI/visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Alteryx).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, heterogeneous data sets from EMR, claims, registries, or patient‑generated sources.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) and experience handling protected health information (PHI) securely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear, concise scientific reports for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MSc) in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with clinical trial data, GCP compliance, and regulatory submissions (e.g., FDA RWE guidance, EMA RWE framework).
  • Familiarity with clinical vocabularies and ontologies (ICD‑10‑CM, SNOMED CT, LOINC, Read Codes).
  • Background in health‑economics modeling, cost‑effectiveness analysis, or outcomes research.
  • Exposure to cloud‑based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big‑data processing tools (Spark, Hadoop).
  • Knowledge of machine‑learning pipelines, Bayesian statistics, and advanced predictive modeling techniques.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional project teams and mentoring junior analysts.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to design reproducible, scientifically sound analyses that withstand peer review and regulatory scrutiny.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Proactive in identifying data gaps, proposing methodological solutions, and iterating on study designs.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinicians, data engineers, product managers, and external partners.
  • Technical Agility: Comfortable navigating multiple programming environments, data‑visualization tools, and cloud services.
  • Communication Excellence: Translate complex statistical concepts into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Ethical Integrity: Commitment to patient privacy, data security, and the highest standards of scientific ethics.

Career Development & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional growth of its talent. As a member of the RWE team, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior scientists who have published in top‑tier journals and contributed to landmark regulatory submissions.
  • Sponsored certifications (e.g., SAS Certified Clinical Trials Programmer, Certified Health Data Analyst).
  • Internal learning portals offering courses on advanced causal inference, AI for health, and data‑privacy compliance.
  • Opportunities to present findings at industry conferences (ISPOR, DIA, AMIA) and co‑author peer‑reviewed publications.
  • Clear career pathways—from Analyst to Senior Scientist, Principal Investigator, and eventually Director of Real‑World Evidence.
