Our mission is to move people and goods safely, on time, and with a smile. As we continue to expand our operations across the United States, we are looking for dedicated, detail‑oriented individuals to join our ground‑handling team in Michigan.

Position Overview – Remote Data Entry & Ramp Agent (Customer Service Agent)

The Remote Data Entry & Ramp Operations Specialist is a critical entry‑level role that blends data accuracy, physical freight handling, and frontline customer service. You will work at arenaflex’s Grand Rapids (GRR) hub, ensuring that cargo, mail, and passenger luggage are loaded, unloaded, and tracked with precision. While the majority of the role is performed on the ramp, a portion of the data‑entry responsibilities can be completed remotely, offering flexibility and a balanced workday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Freight Handling: Safely lift, load, unload, and transport cargo, mail, and luggage weighing up to 70 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
  • Ramp Coordination: Direct incoming and outgoing aircraft to appropriate gate positions, ensuring smooth and timely turnaround.
  • Protective Measures: Guard cargo and mail against damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions (heat, rain, snow).
  • Ground Equipment Operation: Operate belt loaders, tow tractors, and other ground support equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Data Entry & Tracking: Use scanners and computer systems to log cargo movements, verify destination codes, and maintain accurate records.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow arenaflex’s safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any hazards immediately.
  • Shift Flexibility: Work varied shifts—including early mornings, evenings, and weekends—based on flight schedules, with an average of 20–40 hours per week.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, pilots, and fellow ramp agents to resolve issues quickly.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and team safety.
  • Willingness to wear arenaflex‑provided PPE, including hearing protection, safety‑toe footwear, hard hat, and high‑visibility apparel.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or airline ramp environment.
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications and data‑entry software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer‑service mindset.
  • Problem‑solving attitude and proactive approach to operational challenges.
