Role Description This is a contract, remote role for a Remote Travel Consultant, Niche Cruise Specialist. The consultant will design and book custom cruise itineraries, including ocean, river, and specialty cruises, tailored to client preferences and budgets. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting consultations, preparing quotes, managing reservations, and handling changes or special requests. The role will also involve advising clients on destinations, cruise lines, excursions, and travel insurance, while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with supplier policies. The consultant will maintain strong relationships with cruise partners, stay current on industry trends and promotions, and proactively follow up with clients before, during, and after travel to ensure excellent service and repeat business.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Travel Consulting, with experience advising clients on cruise options and crafting customized travel experiences.
- Strong Travel Management and Travel Arrangements skills, including itinerary building, coordinating logistics, and handling changes or disruptions.
- Demonstrated Customer Service and Reservations skills, with the ability to manage inquiries, secure bookings, and resolve issues professionally.
- Familiarity with cruise lines, destinations, and travel industry tools (booking platforms, CRM systems, or GDS) is highly beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client requests simultaneously in a remote environment.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently under a contract arrangement, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and sales results.
- Prior experience in travel, hospitality, or sales is preferred; relevant certifications or training in travel or tourism are a plus.
