Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Engineering & Operations Excellence will be responsible for designing, directing, and executing worldwide frameworks, processes, and decision‑making tools that reduce operating costs, increase revenue, and enhance service quality for both internal and external customers. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will lead a cross‑functional team of engineers, analysts, and support specialists to implement continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with global standards, and drive a culture of innovation throughout arenaflex’s remote customer support organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and communicate a clear vision for engineering and operations excellence that aligns with arenaflex’s corporate goals and customer experience strategy.
- Process Design & Optimization: Design, test, and roll out global processes, workflows, and decision‑support tools that streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce cost‑to‑serve.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives using Six Sigma, Lean, and arenaflex’s Quality‑Driven Management (QDM) methodology to identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and measure impact.
- Team Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and relentless improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with global partners, technology teams, and business units to harmonize processes, standardize system usage (e.g., CargoWise), and ensure seamless integration of new capabilities.
- Performance Management: Establish quantitative service level targets, monitor performance dashboards, and drive corrective actions where service quality is at risk.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure all operational activities comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and arenaflex’s internal policies.
- Technology Enablement: Oversee the implementation and testing of technology enhancements, ensuring system reliability and alignment with business needs.
- Customer Advocacy: Champion the voice of the customer in all decision‑making processes, translating insights into actionable improvements that boost satisfaction and loyalty.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide regular executive updates, prepare detailed reports on operational health, and communicate successes across the organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum 8‑10 years of progressive experience in engineering, operations, or process improvement leadership within a large, complex, global organization.
- Methodologies: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Practitioner, or equivalent; certification in arenaflex QDM Master is highly preferred.
- Project Management: PMP or comparable project management certification is strongly desired.
- Technology Expertise: Demonstrated experience with global freight forwarding platforms (e.g., CargoWise) and a solid understanding of system integration, testing, and rollout.
- Leadership Acumen: Proven track record of building, coaching, and leading high‑performing teams, with a focus on talent development and cultural transformation.
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, capable of interpreting complex data sets to drive strategic decisions.
