Hiring: Fully Remote Instructional Designer (Bay Area)

Instructional Designer Duration: 06 Months Contract Location: Fully Remote Notes: Only submit candidates that currently reside local to bay area/work location-Oakland general office. Assignment is remote. Might be required to go onsite in Oakland for team meet ups from time to time. Laptop to be provided. Any additional equipment required will be the responsibility of supplier. With manager prior approval a pre-determined amount for cell and internet can be expensed monthly. Top Things Looking For: Training Development via PPT. Task Analysis (Learning objectives), Sotryline for WBT development. SME engagement. Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop eLearning, virtual, or instructor-led learning solutions for technical, compliance, systems, or soft skills concepts, following established instructional design methodologies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content. Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments.
  • Complete detailed analysis of each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems.
  • Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including storyboards, eLearning modules, virtual learning, student and facilitator guides, activities, scenarios, assessments, or performance support.
  • Visualize instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions. Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience.
  • Participate in meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback.
  • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks.

Skills:

  • 3+ years' experience developing eLearning, virtual, or instructor-led training
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed
  • Desired: Knowledge of training development applications - Oracle UPK or SAP Enable Now, QuestionMark.
  • Desired: Knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator.
