Wordpress Developer (Part time)
Greetings! One of our direct clients is looking to hire a WordPress Developer for a part-time gig (10 -15 hours a week). This is 100% remote role based in the United States. Please see below the job description. Seeking a reliable, detail-oriented WordPress Developer to support ongoing website operations, content management, and front-end development. This role requires a strong balance of technical execution, operational ownership, and responsiveness within defined service-level expectations. Will play a key role in maintaining and evolving a web property, ensuring performance and usability.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Content Execution
- Build and launch new pages based on provided designs (e.g., Figma), ensuring accuracy and responsiveness
- Manage and update content across existing pages, including blogs, press releases, webinars, and events
- Maintain and enhance theme-based content elements within WordPress
- Implement SEO best practices and adhere to established brand guidelines
Site Maintenance & Performance
- Own and execute routine WordPress maintenance tasks (plugin updates, security patches, performance checks)
- Monitor and resolve bugs or issues using browser developer tools and debugging techniques as needed
- Ensure site stability and optimal performance across all devices
Project Management & Operations
- Take proactive ownership of task intake and ticket management
- Deliver work within defined SLAs:
- Same-day response for critical/high-priority issues
- 24–48 hour turnaround for non-critical requests
- Maintain clear workflows from intake ? QA ? deployment
- Communicate status updates, timelines, and risks with transparency
- Effectively manage multiple concurrent workstreams without backlog
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5+ years of experience in full-stack WordPress development
- Proficiency in:
- HTML, CSS, and basic PHP for theme customization
- WordPress core functionality, dashboard, and both Classic and Block Editors
- Utilize project management tools such as
Asana (or similar platforms) to track tasks, manage intake, prioritize work, and maintain visibility into project status and timelines
- Experience with modern page builders such as Elementor and Divi Builder
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles across mobile and desktop
- Experience translating Figma (or similar) designs into functional web pages
- Strong troubleshooting skills using browser developer tools (e.g., Chrome Inspector)
