Inbound Transportation Manager (Remote/Hybrid)

The Inbound Transportation Manager is responsible for the import operations of one of the United States' 50 largest importers by volume. The responsibilities of this position include ensuring the smooth operation of well over $500M worth of goods per year from our vendors' doors reputed company over the world to our US warehouse network. This position manages teams responsible for container shipping and drayage trucking, and is also a support function that works closely with Procurement, Warehouse Operations, suppliers, and our network of freight carriers and forwarders. This person will manage the operational flow of product through these levels of our supply chain, while also supervising a team of ~15 employees, including several direct reports. Direct and manage inbound supply chain teams to optimize shipping activities, while working closely with freight forwarders and carriers to encourage high service level and value ? Liaise with Procurement, Warehousing, and Finance teams regarding shipments and inventory / cash flow ? reputed company teams that coordinate ocean container shipping (including booking at reputed company), drayage trucking, analytics, and invoicing ? Ensure that staff execute at the company's high standards ? Liaise with reputed company-party business partners, such as steamship lines, freight forwarders, truckers, and reputed company managers ? Monitor incoming inventory status at warehouses / distribution centers on a continual basis and help optimize reputed company-to-ship metrics without increasing detention and demurrage ? Participate in reputed company contract negotiations and compliance ? Monitor developments and new technologies in Supply Chain Logistics ?
