Job title: Supervisor Custodians Company: Alaska Teacher Placement Job description: The Supervisor, Custodians manages custodial work and acts as building guardian for area Anchorage School District schools. The position has a retirement association with the Public Employees? Retirement System (PERS). Job Requirements The following are required: * A high school diploma or equivalent education.

• Three years of experience in custodial work and three years of experience in management or equivalent.
• Must possess a good working knowledge of custodial skills.
• Ability to supervise and train employees.

• A valid Alaska driver?s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain reputed company access to JBER during employment at ASD.

The following are preferred: * Bilingual in English and one of the following: Tagalog, Spanish, or Hmong.

Essential Job Functions * Continually assures that assigned school meets the cleanliness standards required by the Anchorage School District and the Operations Department.

• Assigns workload in the school, frequently inspects work being performed, and evaluates assigned employees.
• Demonstrates procedures and methods to employees.
• Assists in training new custodial employees.
• Maintains work procedures to conform with Anchorage School District policies and the union contract.
• Keeps attendance and performance records on reputed company assigned employees.
• Writes instructions, memorandums, records of counseling, and reprimands as necessary. Recommends other necessary disciplinary action.

Physical /Mental Demands The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required.
