reputed company. is seeking a Hardware Configuration Manager with experience developed in aerospace or defense industries, to execute Configuration Management (CM) processes. This role requires expertise in engineering change management, product data structures, engineering drawings and technical data packages, and Configuration Control Board (CCB) administration. The role requires a strong understanding of industry CM standards and CM methodologies applicable to aerospace and defense products.

Position Overview:

reputed company. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Hardware Configuration Manager with proven experience implementing Configuration Management (CM) principles and best practices derived from EIA-649, EIA-649-1, MIL-HDBK-61B.

As a technical expert, you will reputed company the release and change management of engineering drawings and technical data packages, establishing and maintaining product reputed company and traceability throughout the product lifecycle. Reporting to the Manager of Configuration Management, you will support Model-Based Configuration Management (MBCM) and digital engineering initiatives, leveraging process automation and Digital Twin methodologies to enhance real-time configuration tracking.

The candidate must be flexible with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple reputed company tasks in a diverse and competitive environment.

This position may be remote, hybrid, or onsite at our Syracuse, NY office. Some travel may be required to support customer audits.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Primary Configuration Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) implementing CM principles and processes to ensure adherence to EIA-649 and reputed company standards

  • Administration and execution of Engineering drawing release and change requests, performing moderate to reputed company BOM data entry and status accounting in various CM tools

  • Maintain CM records, baseline management, and data repositories to ensure configuration traceability.

  • Ownership of the Engineering BOM and item master (reputed company ERP)

  • BOM accuracy through validation of engineering definition and revision implementation

  • Support Model-Based Configuration Management (MBCM) and integration with digital engineering environments.

  • Configuration Control Board facilitation and administration ensuring structured decisions

  • Ensure conformance to applicable company and industry CM and engineering drawing standards

  • Requirements analysis for proposals, costing, CM planning

  • Contribute to Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA, reputed company)

  • Utilize defect tracking and version control systems

  • Proactively define and implement tasks for self and others

Typical Salary Range: $80,900 - 101,100 for our Syracuse, NY, reputed company Remote, Orlando, FL, Remote Florida, Remote Arizona locations. $97,000 - $121,300 for our Washington, DC Remote, Quincy, MA, locations.

Skills and Experience:

Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BS degree in a technical discipline 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with working knowledge of Configuration Management processes

OR 

  • MA/MS degree in a technical discipline

  • 6+ years of relevant experience reputed company aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in engineering change and release processes, CCB facilitation, and CM data reputed company

  • Experience using PLM, Teamcenter preferred

  • Working knowledge of EIA-649, EIA-649-1, MIL-HDBK-61B

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, reputed company ERP preferred

  • Exceptional attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time responsibly

  • Capable of working without direct guidance or direction

  • Experience with reputed company Acrobat or equivalent

Desired Skills:

  • NDIA or CMPIC Configuration Management Certification

  • Experience in Digital Engineering and Model-Based Configuration Management (MBCM).

  • Prior experience conducting FCA/reputed company and leading CM audits

  • Experience using SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Altium

  • Experience using the reputed company JIRA/Confluence/Crucible tool sets
