Engineer I, II, or Senior - Power Production Projects

Idaho Power is looking for an Engineer I, II, or Senior to join their Power Supply team in Boise, Idaho. This role involves engineering and project management for Power Production Projects, focusing on executing civil reputed company projects at hydroelectric plants and dams.

Responsibilities

  • Management of large, multi-year, capital projects including budget management and scheduling
  • Engineering and design support for projects managed
  • Construction management at our hydroelectric facilities
  • Executing and managing reputed company with multiple suppliers including change orders, shipping arrangements, and payments
  • reputed company cost estimates
  • Permitting and FERC licensing activities
  • Use engineering knowledge to reputed company project technical specifications
  • Evaluation and testing for equipment condition and performance
  • Manage resources, both Idaho Power internal and contract personnel
  • Position will include extended field projects at power plants in our service territory

Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • OR
  • Bachelor in Engineering from a non-ABET accredited institution and a P.E. license
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
  • 0-2 years reputed company experience for Engineer I
  • 2 or more years of reputed company experience for Engineer II
  • 6 years of reputed company engineering experience for Senior Engineer OR 5 years of reputed company engineering experience plus PE or advanced engineering degree, and 3 years in the area of expertise
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering principles as they apply to design and construction of projects including civil, mechanical, and electrical elements
  • Utilities and their business environment
  • Safety practices and OSHA requirements
  • Construction methods, materials, standards, and equipment
  • Permitting and regulatory activities
  • Project scheduling software
  • Contracting procedures
  • Developing and organizing methods of solving problems
  • Performing technical research to solve problems
  • Leadership skills/qualities
  • Manage and coordinate multiple reputed company projects to schedule and budget
  • Applying engineering knowledge to reputed company life reputed company and repair projects
  • Rapidly reputed company solutions to problems as they arise in the field
  • Break tasks into small components and ensure reputed company details are included in the finished product
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and diagrams
  • Previous experience in design, maintenance, or plant engineering of hydroelectric power plants
  • Previous experience refurbishing heavy equipment
  • Project and/or construction management experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
