Technical Manager (Internal Fire Safety)

We are a multi-award-winning housebuilder that operates nationally across 5 regions. We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our Special Projects Division focusing on Internal Fire Safety works.

You’ll be capable of working as a team, and coordinating the different contributors to a project, and using your first-class communication skills you will effectively motivate and communicate with the wider teams, in order to influence others to ensure that the required programmes are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Review FRA’s and prepare briefing documents of actions points for Crest, Contractors & RE/RP’s. Inc co-ordination of Mark-up plans of area of works. (link between Pre-assessment team & Technical Managers)
• Review Firestopping (FS) & Fire reputed company (FD) surveys.
• Site visits to review accuracy of FS/FD surveys and inspect quality of internal remedial works.
• Advise of Firestopping compartmentation & fire reputed company remedial details/methods.
• Advise on allocation of FD non-compliance items between Defect & Repair.
• Review contractor’s remedial proposals.
• Review Firestopping FS & FD completion QA reports & Certifications.
• Assist in tracking the Golden Tread packs.
• Assist on Fire Strategy proposals until RFSS plans are finalised.
• Assist with internal remedial works detail for HRB Gateway2 applications.

Qualifications

• Needs to be a "competent person" with deep knowledge of Building safety legislation such as BSA 2022, Building Regulations, CDM, building types including HRB’s, and specifically internal fire remediation works.
• The role requires an individual with both strong on-site practical experience and desk top experience.
• Qualification desirable but not essential: European Qualifications reputed company (EQF) Level 5+ qualifications or similar, professional body registration (like BAFE SP205/IFSM/IFE)
